Prague's evening river cruise comes in two very different sizes: a short, cheap sightseeing loop that's one of the most-booked experiences in the whole city, or a longer dinner cruise for anyone who wants a full evening built around it.
The short version
The standard evening cruise runs 50 minutes with an audio guide in Czech, English and German, no meal included – just the boat, the route, and the lit-up riverfront. It's genuinely one of the highest-volume bookings found anywhere in Prague, run by Prague Boats, and departs in the early evening to catch the city turning from daylight to fully lit.
The dinner version
A separate, pricier option from the same operator stretches the same idea to about three hours, adding a buffet of international and Czech dishes and live music on board – built as a complete evening out rather than a quick loop. Worth it if dinner and a slower pace matter more to you than keeping the evening short.
What you actually see
Both versions pass Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and Kampa Island, illuminated after dark – landmarks most visitors already see from the bridges and streets above, but from the water and at a different angle.
Booking
The 50-minute sightseeing cruise is the simpler, cheaper option if the view is all you're after. For a full evening with dinner included, book the 3-hour dinner cruise instead. Both are popular enough to sell out, so book a day or two ahead either way.
