Kraków attractions, tours & tickets
Kraków survived the war intact, so its medieval core is the real thing. It is also the best base for Poland's two must-book day trips.
Kraków's Old Town is built around Europe's largest medieval square, with the Cloth Hall at its centre and St Mary's Basilica on one corner. Wawel Castle and cathedral sit just above the river.
The former Jewish quarter of Kazimierz is a short walk south, full of small bars and food. Two of Poland's most important sights – Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz-Birkenau – are both easy half or full-day trips from here.
