Olivia Star is the tallest building in Gdańsk and in northern Poland, and its observation deck – on the 32nd floor, about 130 metres up – comes with a genuine twist: a garden of tropical plants built into the viewing floor, alongside the usual glass-walled panorama.
What's up there
From the top, the view covers the whole Tri-City area – Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia together – plus Gdańsk Bay and, on a clear day, the Hel Peninsula curving out into the Baltic. It's a genuinely different vantage point from anything in the Old Town, since Olivia Star sits in Oliwa, a district north of the historic centre rather than inside it. Several restaurants operate on and around the viewing floor, including Italian and Mediterranean options, so a visit here works as an evening out rather than a quick photo stop.
Booking
The dinner and cocktails package is the best-reviewed and most-booked way to visit – it turns the trip into a full evening rather than a short stop, food and drinks included alongside the view. A simpler, cheaper entry-only ticket also exists if you just want the observation deck and garden without committing to a meal.
Since Oliwa is separate from the Old Town, plan Olivia Star as its own outing – a short taxi or tram ride from the centre – rather than squeezing it into the same walk as the Long Market and the crane.
